100 Comics Positives For 2013: BOOM! Takes Money, Publishes More And Weirder Comic Books

image

One of the best things about non-mainstream comics publishers over the last quarter century is that they tend to greet flush times and lean times with the same reaction: publishing more comics. BOOM! joined the club this year when they plowed some of the capital they've gained through movie development and a successful licensed-title line back into the company with a new imprint. It just looks like a regular alt-comics line to me, although in the context of everything that BOOM! publishes, the description emphasizes the experimental. However the comics themselves end up, if that's a place where cartoonists that have worked on some of the Adventure Time books feel comfortable taking work of their own, it's always nice to have another out there.
