50 Comics Positives In 2012: There Are Still Comics Out There About Which You Know Next To Nothing

image

One of the downsides to the passionate, personal relationships that a lot of fans have to the comics medium is that they tend to lock into what they originally loved about them, sometimes to the exclusion of almost everything else. It's very common in comics to read people describe with great certainty the entirety of comics encompassing a range of works that other folks might feel make up about 10 percent of the range of what's out there. The thing we learn in years like 2012 is that comics is way bigger than any one kind of reading, any one genre, any one artist or group of artists, any box we might hope to stuff the art form into no matter our best intentions. I guarantee you that you don't know about all the comics, as I'm not sure anyone can. I'm reasonably certain you don't even know all the comics you'd like if you gave them a chance. How great is that?
