ActuaBD.com: Pif Gadget Reeling?
Didier Pasamonik has an article up on ActuaBD.com tracing the travails of the relaunched (2004)
Pif Gadget magazine, including a horrendous circulation collapse, personnel problems, and anger from some that the magazine hasn't been given more direction and a greater chance to succeed. The original
Pif Gadget -- really the middle-era name of a magazine that went by several
in a long run that included comics from
Jean-Claude Forest to
Rene Goscinny to
Hugo Pratt to
Fred -- ended in 1992, and many of the strips in the new version are reprints from its pages. If I'm reading it correctly, the first poster in response is a webmaster who calls the magazine over-protective of their Internet imagery, forcing him to shut down a site about the magazine.
