Name Five Favorite Supporting Supporting Characters
Willie Garvin (Modesty Blaise
Judah the Hammer and Dave (Nexus)
The Mist (Robinson's Starman
Flip Corkin (Terry and the Pirates
Wyatt Wingfoot (Fantastic Four
Claude Funston (Zippy the Pinhead
Chester Brown and Seth (Peepshow
Barbara Shelley (Promethea
Flower (Kamandi, The Last Boy on Earth
). All of two issues, unfortunately, but still the set-up for one of the most tragic deaths in comics.
Chubby the Choona (Seaguy
Kevin (Hercules Unbound
Robin (Dark Knight Returns
Snapper Carr (Justice League of America
). Being the sidekick to the World's Greatest Super-Heroes has gotta count for something. Jarvis, anyone?)
Eugene the Jeep
Gyro Gearloose's Helper
Karkas and the Reject (they count as one... please?)
J. Jonah Jameson (Amazing Spider-Man
My favorite supporting character, just because he serves as the most tenacious antagonist Spider-Man ever had, while also filling in as the closest thing Peter Parker had to a father figure.
Carrie Kelly (Dark Knight Returns
and Dark Knight Strikes Again
She perfectly played the role Robin was created to fill and served as a great contrast to Miller's morbid Batman.
Chubby Da Choona (Seaguy
For his death alone, which is one of the most heartwrenching I've ever read in comics.
Rena Titanon (Love and Rockets
I liked the role she played in Maggie's life. And I'm a big wrasslin' fan, so I always liked that aspect of her character, especially because Jamie played that aspect straight. "She used the ropes!"
Penny Century (Love and Rockets
Just because I'm just shallow.
The Red Dragon
