Preview -- Project: Romantic
posted July 29, 2006

imageThe third and final installment of Chris Pitzer's high-end themed anthologies, Project: Romantic takes on the genre of love with a series of comics shorts from several well-known alternative talents, including but not limited to Randall Christopher, Joshua Cotter, Nick Craine, Doug Fraser, Debbie Huey, Damien Jay, Hope Larson, Junko Mizuno, Scott Morse, Chris Pitzer, Joel Priddy, Paul Rivoche and Jim Rugg. What's nice about the follow-up to Project: Telstar (robots) and Project Superior (superheroes) is that unlike those two subjects the romance comic is traditionally bound to short stories like those presented here. This gives Project: Romantic an historical kick the others couldn't offer. It is also a subject near and dear to every artist's art, and you just can't say that about men in tights or artificial beings.

Project: Romantic features a wrap-around cover by Maris Wicks, is 256 pages, is in color, and costs $19.95. Its ISBN # is 0977030423, and its Diamond # is AUG06 2903. It will be out in October. A limited edition with a cover by Jim Rugg will cost $60.

The story presented here thanks to Chris Pitzer at AdHouse Books is from Big Time Attic, the artists' collective that includes Zander Cannon, Kevin Cannon and Shad Petosky. If you like it and wish to see more, alert your retailer or pre-order from an on-line bookseller.
