The author's bio says Parker is a free-lance Web designer in addition to being a cartoonist and illustrator. It shows: Argon Zark! is pretty and artistically accomplished in a way something like Scott McCloud's recent effort was not. Parker has serviceable rendering skills and then pretty much lets the multi-color special effects take over. However, I'm not sure this doesn't make him the '90s version of "best airbrush van painter" as the technology changes the next few years. The comic's story is infantile science fiction, more reminiscent of grade school educational film in its tone than even children's literature.
This review was written in the late 1990s as part of a then-ongoing freelance gig; I apologize if it reads oddly or seems incomplete.
