Laura Hudson On Cosmic Monkey's Forthcoming 24-Hour Event April 12 (PR)
posted April 1, 2009

Cosmic Monkey Comics is proud to announce that we will be hosting our second annual 24 Hour Comic Event: Drawpocalypse 2 on Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th. The store will be open for 24 hours straight from 10 AM on Saturday until 10 AM Sunday, as a collection of brave comic artists endeavors to produce 24 completed pages of comics before the clock runs out. Who will make the 10 AM deadline as early morning exhaustion kicks in, and what sort of stories will they create while they're under the gun? Stop by the store any time during the event -- literally, ANY time -- to find out.

Portland comics artist David Chelsea, who has participated in 24-hour comics marathons a record-breaking ten times, will be joining us for round eleven at Drawpocalypse 2. Chelsea previously released two of his 24-hour comics in a collection titled "24x2" through Portland publisher Top Shelf Productions.

This event is free, but we will also be accepting donations on site to benefit S. Clay Wilson, an underground comics legend who remains hospitalized after sustaining a severe head injury in November. If you would like to help out or get involved with the 24 Hour Comics event, we'd love to hear from you. Please e-mail or call the store for more information.
