Mark Liggett On Daredevil "Ending" At Marvel

Love your site and check it often. I'm like you to some extent where I like the medium of comics and grew up on superheroes but find the Big 2's treatment (or rather rehashing) of those characters to be tiring at this point. But I digress...

One thing I think you should consider is the idea of renumbering to conclude story arcs. Mark Waid has said that the creative team on Daredevil isn't "going anywhere." I wouldn't be surprised if this was an intentional act supported (if not spawned) by Waid, and I, for one, welcome it. I can't stand the perpetual grind of endless stories in comics. I suppose there's a good way to do it but with so much editorial interference by Marvel and DC in their titles it's nigh impossible to pull off successfully. Is it a gimmick? Probably. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that Waid sold them on this idea using the renumbering gimmick as the hook.

What I do know, though, is that now that I know there's an end to the overall saga I'll be more likely to buy the trades after the first one. I like my stories to have an end!

I think having a stopping point in a series instead of just petering out is a good behavior to encourage in the Big 2... even if they're doing it for the wrong reasons. Maybe next they'll start letting their characters get married!

Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there. Keep up the good work!
