Gary Dunaier On The Gene Day Aardvark-Vanaheim Star Wars Portfolio Linked-To At CR
posted March 3, 2014

Regarding the Gene Day Aardvark-Vanaheim Star Wars Portfolio you "Go, Looked" on 2/24, you might be interested to know that it's a pretty rare item.

According to Dave Sim (source: Cerebus Bi-Weekly #1, 12/2/88), "The inside back cover of Cerebus 1 featured an ad for a Star Wars portfolio by Gene Day. When permission to do the portfolio was denied by Lucasfilms, all copies of the portfolio were destroyed except for Gene Day's personal copies which are in the possession of the Gene Day Estate."

Don't know how Flickr user "quwanjew" (who posted the images of the portfolio you linked to) got a copy, if they're all in the possession of the Gene Day Estate.. On the other hand, it was 25 years ago that Sim wrote his comments, and it's possible that the estate may have sold some, or all, of its copies since then.
