John Vest On The Loss Of Offbeat Mainstream Comics
posted July 5, 2016
Christ, in the 1970s, offbeat comics were the norm.
During high school I'd pick up Gerber/Colan Howard The Duck comics, and Jim Starlin's Warlock, from the convenience store spinner rack near home. At the time the books felt almost subversive, and they were in the front of the little town store.
Like the undergrounds, I guess eccentric mainstream comics are in the comic book dustbin of history too.
