Nick Bertozzi on the May 21st Herge Centennial Celebration in NYC
posted May 21, 2007

Dear Friends:

This Monday evening beginning at 8pm I'll be reading my "Nit Nit and the Escapees" comic, a very, very dark satire of Tin Tin drawn (as much as possible) in the master's style.

Here is the press release from organizer Jesse Fuchs:
"Herge's 100th Birthday Celebration The Phantastic Invisible Tentacle Monday, May 21st, 8PM Beauty Bar 231 E. 14th St.

May 22nd, 2007 is the 100th birthday of Georges Prosper Remi (1907-1983), better known as Herge, the legendary Belgian creator of The Adventures of Tintin. This Monday, May 21st, Beauty Bar's The Phantastic Invisible Tentacle is celebrating Herge's legacy with slideshow readings of original material by cartoonists Nick Bertozzi (The Salon), Jason Little (Shutterbug Follies), Josh Neufeld (A.D.: New Orleans After the Deluge), and R. Sikoryak (The New Yorker). The reading begins at 8pm, and will be followed by Francophone pop and other retro delights with DJs Stephin Merritt, Jesse Fuchs, Go-Karff, and ERL."
