News: Global Frequency Picked Up for Midseason
posted May 19, 2004

May 19 -- The surprise of the television season announcements may have been NBC's decision to take a pass on yet another Law and Order spin-off, but an almost equally impressive upset may have been the WB Network's decision to name comics writer Warren Ellis' spy drama Global Frequency as a mid-season replacement series. In a sign of changing times, the words surrounding the adaptation of the Ellis comic book series that media writer seized upon as unusual were not "based on the comic" but, in a nod to the dominance of reality television, "scripted adventure show."

Global Frequency was published as a comic by DC's Wildstorm imprint.
