News: Kitchen Out, Staros In at CBLDF Board
posted August 6, 2004

August 6 -- In an eventful San Diego meeting, Denis Kitchen stepped down from the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund board after eighteen years of service, it was finally announced today. Top Shelf Publisher Chris Staros replaced Kitchen as the board's president. Milton Griepp of ICv2.com was elected treasurer to replace retailer Frank Mangiaracina, who remained on the board. Board members Peter David, John Davis, Neil Gaiman, Greg Ketter and Louise Nemschoff were re-elected to another term of service on the board, joining Mangiaracina.

Kitchen said in his departing statement that he felt that the stigmatization of comics was more easily achieved when he founded the board in the 1980s as opposed to the current climate.
