They Make Comics Without Telling Me Here's an article about a book launch next week for a book I haven't heard about at all (Extraction! A Comix Reportage), making use of an under-appreciated application of the form (journalism), from a publisher that as far as I can remember never did comics before (Cumulus Press), on what sounds like a compelling subject for its novelty (mining industry issues), featuring cartoonists in which I'm interested (Joe Ollmann, Jeff Lemire). I'm not sure whether to be delighted when a book like this shows up out of nowhere or frustrated with an industry so big right now that it happens all the time.
