The story of Swedish newspaper Nerikes Allehanda publishing a picture of Muhammed as a dog by Lars Vilks in a profile of the artist seems to have died down, at least for now, with admirable work performed by the Swedish government in negotiating some choppy political waters. Let's hope, anyway. You can still read some semi-generic analysis pieces hereandthere. The decision not to include specifics by pieces like these disturbs me a bit, as I think all of the differences between this relatively minor flare-up and the great, life-destroying tragedy of what happened with Denmark in 2005-2006 can be found in the details.
