50 Comics Positives For 2014: Lisa Hanawalt Won A James Beard Foundation Award
After being nominated last year and losing, the cartoonist Lisa Hanawalt won
a James Beard Foundation Award for Humor in the Journalism category, the first time anyone can recall a comics-related winner in a culinary awards program. It was good timing, as soon after Hanawalt and Drawn and Quarterly announced the publisher's acquisition of a book of food-related comics. Hanawalt's year also brought the recognition for her work on the Netflix show
Bojack Horseman, now working on a second season.
The comic can be seen here.
