Random Comics News Story Round-Up

* cartoonist and mega-successful hybrid kids book creator Jeff Kinney and his lawyers (I'm assuming creator Kinney is at the heart of Wimpy Kid, Inc. -- I could be wrong) are suing the parody book Diary Of A Zombie Kid from Antarctic Press. It's always tough to see a parody get sued, although I can envision scenarios where this is a more than justified course of action. I guess we'll see.

* veteran on-line comics reviewer Johanna Draper Carlson picks her top graphic novels of the year. In order, they are:

* Julia Wertz snd Jonathan Baylis draw a holiday-themed comic.

* Greg McElhatton on Criminal: The Last Of The Innocent. J. Caleb Mozzocco on Batman: Noel. Johanna Draper Carlson on some DC comics and Finder: Voice. Philip Shropshire on Wizzywig Vol. 1.

* Johanna Draper Carlson reviews the year at her site. I like that feature. I also like Sam Henderson comics, so I'm happy to see a new one out. I also like Austin English's taste in small press and handmade comics, and will you look at this. In not comics news, I also approve of making your own cajeta.

* finally, Joseph Lambert is once again uploading sketches to his blog.
