SLJ’s Best Comics For Kids 2009

The School Library Journal has assembled a "Best Comics For Kids 2009" list, complete with commentary, categories and ISBN information. Participants in the list included -- which means there are more? I'm not sure -- Robin Brenner, Katherine Dacey, Lori Henderson, Esther Keller, Scott Robins, Eva Volin and Snow Wildsmith. It's a really good list, and to be perfectly honest, these people are way more on top of general publisher offerings of this type than the comics press and blogosphere can ever hope to be. As I'm sure will be mentioned in several other places, I can't imagine a seller of comic books not having enough material here with which to build a comics for kids part of their business, unless their interest is a subset of comics and not comics, in which case they should be honest about that.
