* you don't see a lot of conventions in New Orleans, or lengthy reports about Wizard World shows. Here's both.

* Comic-Con International announced its first wave of special guests and let folks know the deadline for the Spirit Of Retailing Award given out in conjunction with the Eisner Awards.

* a crowdfunder to defray the prize costs of the forthcoming SPACE show ends later today. Give generously, if you can afford to.

* as mentioned elsewhere, Linework NW 2016 applications are due Friday.

* finally, the MoCCA Festival has released through The Beat its initial burst of Noelle Stevenson art for its 2016 show.
