Bangladesh Dropped From Watch List

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom
has dropped Bangladesh from a watch list of countries likely to violate the religious rights of its minorities. A core issue of the country's appearance on the list was its treatment of cartoonist Arifur Rahman. Rahman was jailed for six months, ostensibly for his own protection, after publishing a cartoon that some felt was offensive to Islam.
