Preview: Billy Hazelnuts

Between his alt-newspaper weekly juggernaut Maakies and his various Sock Monkey comics and books from Dark Horse, Tony Millionaire has carved out a comics world that is equally useful at showing grotesque characters downing a bottle of liquor or fragile creatures tending to broken hearts, comics that are frequently beautiful, nearly always funny, and occasionally terrifying and raw. One of the great cartooning talents to emerge in the 1990s, Millionaire's new original graphic novel is called Billy Hazelnuts, and debuts soon from Fantagraphics Books.
