"The City" by John Backderf has named "Cartoon Winner" in the 38th Annual Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards, announced April 20. A dinner for all award recipients will be held on May 25 at Georgetown University. Judges said of the winner, "Derf aggressively attacks the institutions, ideologies and attitudes that create an environment for the continuing oppression and exploitation of the powerless."
