Hate The War And Love The Warrior
I've mentioned this before on this site, but my vote for fascinating, recurring feature story of the decade goes to the space that
Doonesbury's Garry Trudeau has carved out for himself as a friend to soldiers and an advocate for their issues -- or, perhaps more accurately, as a sympathetic conduit for a point of view held by many serving. This despite being demonized by some for his political views in general and his opposition to the Iraq War specifically. He's just
penned a piece for
Stars and Stripes talking about that aspect of his work.
