50 Comics Positives In 2012: Thank You, Matt Groening

Life In Hell comic strip, including more than two decades of work after his animation juggernaut
The Simpsons got off the ground. It is somehow an under-appreciated major work for its provenance and the aggressive early reprinting of some of the work, and an archival edition is maybe comics publishing's greatest prize.
Its end not only triggered an outpouring of praise for the work itself but also a mournful moment for the ongoing decline of the alt-weekly comic strip, a once-rich source for some of the best comics work going.
