Adam Zyglis Wins 2015 Pulitzer In Editorial Cartooning
Adam Zyglis of the
Buffalo News has won this year's Pulitzer Prize in the editorial cartooning category.
You can see his winning portfolio at the excellent Pulitzer site.
Zyglis replaced the very popular Tom Toles when Toles went to the
Washington Post, and I'm delighted to see the
News rewarded for sticking with a staffed editorial cartoonist position. It would have been easy for them to go in another direction at that time, and there's no guarantee that Zyglis would have developed in the same way or even still be doing cartoonist without his slot at the
News.
Finalists were Kevin Kallaugher for his
Baltimore Sun work and Dan Perkins for his work at
Daily Kos as Tom Tomorrow.
Congratulations to all three men. Zyglis receives $10,000 and a rewritten first line in his
New York Times obituary.
