This is yet another themed mini-comics anthology, this one much smaller than its more famous peers -- and about monsters. Brian Ralph is here with an amusing story about the Loch Ness monster (emphasizing the creature's sad, alienated side -- pure death in another cartoonist's hand but amusing here), as is Gorgon Radeo, Coober Skeber #2's weirdest contributor. Radeo's strip is, next to Ralph's, the best one in the book: an oddly rythmed Panteresque meditation on the book's themes.

Other than that, the comics range from the decent (Charley Dick-in's "Monster") to the god-awful ("The Superfiends"). A very uneven effort from the good folks in the Providence, Rhode Island mini-comics scene.

This review was written in the late 1990s as part of a then-ongoing freelance gig; I apologize if it reads oddly or seems incomplete.
