I know we're supposed to write about everything we get, but I can barely find the words for this one. It's a joke book, featuring a series of single-gag cartoons (as opposed to single panel gag cartoons, these are one or two pages long) featuring character like the "Tubs-Mariner" and "Flaming Armpit." The jokes are lame, the art -- from artists working in variations of a very cartoony style, including former Amazing Heroes contributor Chas Gillen -- puts the "simple" in "simplistic." (I've never seen anyone swipe Funky Winkerbean before.) Legion of Stupid Heroes looks like something that would have come out 10 years ago and been quickly forgotten even then. Now it's just weird. Recommended for anyone who still wants to read Rambo jokes.

This review was written in the late 1990s as part of a then-ongoing freelance gig; I apologize if it reads oddly or seems incomplete.
