Tim Broderick on Speaking at Tinley Park, IL (PR)
posted March 15, 2008

Graphic novelist Tim Broderick will speak at the Tinley Park Library on Wednesday March 19, 2008, at 7 pm.
From being a scourge of society in the 1950s to being one of the hottest literary movements today, comics (and their current incarnation — the graphic novel) have had a strange history in the United States.
Graphic novelist Tim Broderick traces how a congressional subcommittee investigating juvenile delinquency ended up sidetracking the industry, leaving superhero comics as the dominant form for decades.
And how today, foreign imports and the web have begun to turn the industry on its head.
The Library is located at 7851 Timber Drive, Tinley Park, IL 60477.
