James Owen On The Latest Platinum Letter
posted June 15, 2008

Yeah, when I got
that letter from Platinum, I just...
...
Oh, wait -- my bad. That isn't a letter from Scott Rosenberg's company Platinum -- it's a letter from Scott Rosenberg's distribution company Sunrise, from 1987. The wording was so similar I got confused for a minute. It
worked, though -- the letter had me believing there were no problems at Sunrise right up until the bankruptcy filing.
It was under a solicitation from Scott Rosenberg's comics magazine,
Comics Week, to advertise with
CW. That made me more confident that Sunrise would eventually pay me -- because if asking publishers to whom you owe money to pay you to advertise in a new comics venture funded by the money you aren't paying them isn't a sign of confidence, then I don't know what is.
