Josue Menjivar on Jack Kirby’s 91st Birthday

Thank you for the wonderful images of Kirby's work and covers. I too honour this day.

Kirby was very important to me. He helped me see things creatively. I met him several times at small comicons in Los Angeles. He would talk to all the fans. Very generous with his time. He'd tell me his war stories and Roz would tell him that maybe I did not want to hear that. I wanted to hear him talk about anything. Kirby has been the only artist I have ever been awestruck by. His best advice to me, was to always have fun drawing. I still do.

I own a SkyMasters original strip and always look at it before I draw in my sketchbook.
