The addendum from Matt Fraction sounds a bit misleading. As far as I know, there have been no actual ads for the FMA manga on Adult Swim. However, the anime based on the manga just finished a 26-episode run, in which it became one of Adult Swim's highest-rated programs, with another 26 episodes coming later this year. In addition, Viz has a very large cardboard display set up in bookstores -- the largest I've ever seen for any book -- proudly displaying the Fullmetal Alchemist logo and characters, plus a free sampler to go with any Viz manga. I imagine that helped.

I'm not blaming you or Fraction for this. It just looked like something got misinterpreted somewhere along the line, and I just wanted to set the record straight.
