One of the nominees, "THE KING OF THE FLIES vol 2" , by masters Mezzo & Pirus is composed of short stories, less than 10 pages each. 3 of those stories, from volume 1 of the book, were published in HEAVY METAL: September and November of 2003 and May 2006 issues. In case you're interested, here's my recent plea to Kevin Eastman to bring more.

It looks bad now because Glenat has overhauled its webpage rendering the gorgeous 10-page preview of the book unavailable. Still, there's a different 6 page preview here.

These duo of Charles Burns' not-so-distant cousins are really great and it seems they're getting their critical due now (they're nominated for Angouleme too). The first one of a 2 album series by them was also published by Heavy Metal and Kitchen Sink in the mid 90s. The 2nd part never arrived. All their other stuff is unreprinted in English too, which is a crying shame if you ask me.
