Nat Gertler On Mo Willems As A Cartoonist

I think you're being inaccurate, perhaps even unfair, when you describe Mo Willems as a "super-successful children's book artist that dabbles in cartoon and comics creation with various side projects." Mo Willems is a super-successful children's comic book cartoonist and book author who also dabbles in other cartoon work in various side projects. Most of his children's books are comic books -- word balloons and all. Take a look at his Elephant and Piggie books, or better yet the Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus. which I thought the most brilliant comic book I read during whichever year it was that I first read it.

Which is not to suggest that I disagree that it would be nice to see him do more non-kids-centric stuff as well. (I'm envious of you having that minicomic!)
