John Vest On DNAgents
posted January 7, 2009

The DNAgents was a title I picked up regularly for a little while around '83. Part of its initial appeal was the way it looked on the baxter paper versus the mainstream newsprint comics of its time. Maybe it was the newness of the indy comics then that made the comic seem moderately interesting. But even around '83 part of the pleasure of that and the other Evanier Eclipse comics was nostalgia if you'd enjoyed Gold Key comics as a child in the sixties. 25 years later it's a lot easier to feel nostalgic about comics like Dalgoda or Journey that really were independent of the mainstream comics product and elevating the medium.
