2009 was kind of a nice year in comics for the pleasures found in nonchalant formats - the new Steve Ditko self-published comics, Mineshaft, the five page American Flagg story in Hero Comics, the new Roy Thomas and Al Williamson stories in Marvel's Sub-Mariner 70th Anniversary issue, the Love & Rockets Free Comic Book Day comic.

The wonderful split Hernandez brothers cover in a different way had the pleasure of the old Kirby mid-sixties (Suspense, Astonish) divided jackets.
