"A lot of the LA folks that comment on these threads are pushing the "I will spend my hotel money on the exhibitors" line."

Tom, I'm one of those folks who has been saying this for years. My family is on a limited budget. We save for Comic Con all year. That $500 that we spend on a hotel every year translates to less money that we can spend in the convention center. There have been a few years where we had enough to cover hotel and food but barely had anything to spend inside the convention center. When I commented about having more money to spend inside the convention center, I meant it.
