You're absolutely right about how SPv3 would have performed had it debuted at MoCCA, but as it was it sold out in about three hours despite already having been on sale for two weeks. So it has a pretty solid claim to being "book of the con" anyway. From what I heard, the new edition of MOME was a similar sold-out-by-Saturday-afternoon success.
