COMIC-CON ADDS EDDIE IBRAHIM TO FULL TIME STAFF

SAN DIEGO -- Eddie Ibrahim, Board Member and Special Assistant to David Glanzer, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Comic-Con International, has accepted the position of Director of Programming for the organization.

"I have enjoyed my long association with Comic-Con, and am excited to have daily interaction with what is the greatest event of its kind in the United States,² said Ibrahim.

Eddie Ibrahim has been with Comic-Con in a number of capacities. First as the head of Information Services in the early 1990's, he later joined the Board of Directors as a member at large and served as an Assistant and then Special Assistant to David Glanzer. Ibrahim has resigned his position on the Board.

Gary Sassaman, the current Director of Programming will move to the newly created position of Director of Print and Publications. "While I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as programming director, my first love has been art and design. This new position allows me the opportunity to delve into an area that I have been away from for too long."

Sassaman's first job was as Art Director for his hometown newspaper. He then spent nearly 20 years as graphics designer for television stations in Pittsburgh, PA, as well as San Diego, CA and has contributed many design elements to a variety of projects at Comic-Con.

"While the outside organizations who produced our publications are top notch, we want to move in a direction where more symmetry will be evident between many of our publications," said David Glanzer, spokesperson for Comic-Con, "we are eternally grateful for the work everyone has done to ensure that publications, advertising and other print materials were the best they could possibly be over the past years."

Comic-Con International is the largest comic book and pop culture event in the United States. The 2007 event will be held at the San Diego Convention Center, July 26-29, 2007. For more information on the event, please visit www.comic-con.org.
