The Changing Image of Black Women in Comics and Graphic Novels
A historical summary of how the image of black women have been portrayed in comic strips, comic books and graphic novels since the turn of the last century up to the present day (1899s- 2007). It traces their change from a series of unflattering and unattractive stereotypes to the wide variety of strong and powerful 3-dimensional human beings created today.
