CCI Tickets Go On Sale Today
It would have at one point seemed slightly odd that a reminder of one-day tickets going on sale through
Comic-Con International merits its own post, but that was before the phenomenal pre-sales success the convention had this Fall with the now sold-out four-day passes. I don't think anyone really knows how long tickets will last, but a quick sell-out would push the show into a whole new status level. If you don't have them, get some.
Also, because I forgot, the convention announced
its initial burst of special guests, an admirable group of elder statespersons and great cartoonists. Noteworthy for CCI close-watchers like myself is that there's usually a European guest announced pretty early on, and it looks like that hasn't happened yet. It's nice to see longtime con-goers Matt Fraction and Larry Marder receive that invite, and it will be wonderful to spend the weekend in the general vicinity of the great Carol Tyler.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that the hotels become available through the con on March 18, and you can preview what's available on
this information-packed PDF. There are a truckload of hotels available, but they'll be gone in like two minutes. A deposit will be required this year, which should curb some of the worst abuses of hoarding multiple rooms for pals, a crime for which I'd get like 25 life sentences.
