100 Comics Positives For 2013: Dave Lasky Won An Eisner
It was a shared honor, with collaborator Frank Young on
The Carter Family: Don't Forget This Song, in a category in which they shared a win with Joseph Lambert's fine
Annie Sullivan book. Still, it was meaningful to me because I like David a great deal and he seemed really happy to take the stage and pick his up, and he represents to my mind a lot of talented cartoonists that for whatever reason have never received the big-time acclaim or opportunities their talent and diligence deserve. I also really liked his work on that
Carter Family book. I hope this leads to more considerable gigs for Lasky, but I worry that in comics this isn't a guarantee.
