50 Comics Positives In 2012: Bill Watterson And Richard Thompson



Bill Watterson submitted his first original comics-related art since leaving Calvin and Hobbes in the form of this painting of Richard Thompson's wonderful character Petey Otterloop for the Team Cul De Sac project that raised money for Parkinson's research this year. It's hard to find a silver lining in Richard Thompson ending the Cul De Sac strip to pursue more aggressive treatment -- beyond the obvious that it's awesome to have Thompson fighting to get better and we all look forward to his next project -- but one nice story that came out of it is the professional and personal mutual admiration society that's developed between the creators of two all-time comic strips.
