A Closer Look at Marie Severin’s Career

As news comes that Marie Severin is in the first steps of recovering from a serious stroke with sense of humor intact, two articles call for a reappraisal of her contributions to comics books: Clifford Meth's reminiscence-driven look through the eyes of her peers, and Sean Kleefeld's analysis. You should read both. Severin's a really interesting figure and I do think the breadth of her career contributions -- the coloring, the design work at late-period resurgent '60s Marvel, and her own too infrequent contributions including the humor comics -- are under-appreciated.
