Anger Sparked By Cartoon: Misplaced?

Perhaps the most distressing thing
about this look at a controversial political cartoon, and something that makes it worth commenting upon here, is how the intention to satirize a repugnant point of view is read as some sort of oblique endorsement of that view by virtue of it being portrayed. It's not that I can't see the objection being raised, just not to the point where the disagreement spawns articles. When you couple this notion of limited portrayals with the assumed right in which many believe that they should not have to face an opinion different than their own except when balanced out over time with opinions with which they agree, one can almost sense the toolkit getting smaller and smaller for an already fading profession.
