Another Cartoonist Loses Staff Position
Rob Tornoe
catches the story, which slipped by a few weeks ago with almost no media source taking notice. That may be due in some ways to the process involved. Apparently the entire editorial staff was fired and then reapplied for jobs, some moving into new positions. His last cartoon was January 20. Ironically, Tornoe's article noted that the
Times had backed original content generation as a way to survive the economic maelstrom that is newspaper publishing right now.
His work is still up here. Garner made headlines in 2005 for a cartoon
depicting Pakistan as a dog.
