Austrian Cartoonist Vs. Swastika Law?
I'm going to trust
this blog post in relating the news from a German-language newspaper, even though I don't think I'd agree with the emphases and context inherent in his subsequent analysis. For our purposes it's enough to note that Austrian cartoonist Manfred Deix has apparently run afoul of a local diocese to the point that they may have turned him for depicting a swastika in a way that runs counter to the wishes of law to frustrate its use (in other words, I don't think it's a ban but a code to limit its more extravagant uses, but that's more a hunch than anything else). An attack on religions charge may also be involved. The cartoons in question look about as subtle as a Nicolas Cage star-turn, for whatever that's worth.
