Birmingham’s Nostalgia & Comics Damaged In Riots

Via the Forbidden Planet International blog
comes word that their Nostalgia & Comics store in Birmingham was damaged as recent riots spread outside of London and into other English cities. It appears as if the primary damage was to the store's windows rather than the people taking stock; none of the employees were around when it happened and they are returning to work full hours today.
Nostalgia & Comics is perhaps best known for its specific attention to indie- and alt-comics, although my understanding is that it's a full-service comics store. It is also one of Great Britain's earliest comic shops, dating back to the late 1970s and getting started due to the efforts of early UK fanzine maker and convention organizer Phil Clarke. It became an affiliate of Forbidden Planet in 1997. You can read about the store in a 30th anniversary profile
here.
