Bluewater Served With Cease And Desist Orders Over Pair Of Biographies

That headline is almost bigger than what's relevant in the story. I think you can jump straight to here, Bluewater Productions' reaction to being served a cease-and-desist letter from the lawyer representing a licensing company that works with two Bluewater subjects, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga. I'm suggesting that jump ahead because I can't imagine an unauthorized comics biography no matter who's doing it not being legally wholesome unless 1) trademarked material is used in its design; 2) it's somehow passing itself off as an official product of the person it is profiling, 3) they get one dopey-ass judge to hear the case. There may be something creative in the fact that Bluewater solicits participation from the celebrity before moving on with a project, but I doubt it.
