* sounds like the writer/artist Bryan Hitch will be sticking with DC's JLA property for a stretch. That's a good match of talent and title.

image* here's the cover design for Anya Davidson's forthcoming Band For Life. I'm greatly looking forward to that one.

* foundational blogger Johanna Draper Carlson went on a big publishing news link-post spree this week, catching a bunch of stories I hadn't. There's a post on the Spring season at Toon Books. She provides more information on a pair of high-profile projects previously mentioned here: Goldie Vance and Ghosts. She drove attention to a formal "here-it-comes" style publishing announcement from Abrams on The Imitation Game. Her two most interesting posts in this run were analysis: one following an indie-comics title's latest efforts to put itself into the hands of readers, and one digging into DM sales strategies for a new series starring the Badger character.

* there will be a comic book starring the Poe Dameron character from the recent Star Wars movie.

* here's a talent move on one of the new not-a-relaunch Marvel books. Four or five issues may seem like a small number of issues for for any creative team, but that's not necessarily the case anymore and I'm not sure it ever was.

* finally, Melissa Mendes' Joey is now available in print form.
