Chan Lowe, Doug Marlette Enter Oklahoma Cartoonists HOF
My favorite cartooning hall of fame -- the Oklahoma Cartoonists Hall Of Fame --
will induct two fairly big names into its ranks a week from today: widely syndicated and deeply respected editorial cartoonist Chan Lowe and the late Doug Marlette of both editorial cartoon and newspaper strip (
Kudzu) fame. Although rightly linked to South Florida where he's made most of his professional impact, Lowe got his start in the 1970s and 1980s in the Sooner State. Marlette was working for the
Tulsa World for about a year when he met his single-auto car accident fate in 2007. There's nothing about this story I don't like.
